Industrial Minerals Industrial Banner

Industrial minerals and rocks in Saskatchewan have been sought after and used in the daily lives and commerce of man since the earliest known human habitation. Written records of mineral exploration show that this activity has been a part of Saskatchewan's heritage since the arrival of the first European explorers, traders and settlers. When Saskatchewan attained provincial status in 1905, the Canadian Government retained the rights to its natural resources and the responsibility for conducting geological surveys.
