Battle Creek Sweat Lodge

GPS: 49d 35.58m N 109d 55.26m W 3948 feet
Location: 100 meters south of Elk Campground in the west section of Cypress Hills Interprovincial Park.

The sweat lodge was used as a kind of "spiritual sauna". It allowed the renewal and strengthening of a person through a commingling of one's lifeblood (sweat) with that of Mother Earth (steam).

Visit this functional Aboriginal sweat lodge in the west block of the Cypress Hills Provincial Park and experience the healing powers of the "Creator".

Another model of the sweat lodge may be found by visiting the Royal Saskatchewan Museum in Regina; home to the First Nations gallery.
