Forage crops are crops that are raised
for livestock feed.
The economic value of forage crops as
a group makes them the third most important crop in the province,
after wheat and canola.
Forage crops include: crops seeded for hay and silage;
alfalfa for dehydration and sun-cured
pellets; cereal grains harvested for hay and
silage; corn silage; forage seed production; improved pastures; and,
native hay and pasture.
