Crayfish, leeches, frogs and salamanders originating within Saskatchewan may be used as live bait. Only bait fish that have been commercially frozen or preserved may be used. Live fish are not to be moved or introduced into waterbodies since their introduction may lead to an upset in the ecological balance or the spread of disease within the new area. It is illegal to catch bait fish without the appropriate licence.
