The Wood End North West Mounted Police Post was established on Long Creek in 1886 at the site occupied by a Boundary Commission Depot, 1873 - 74. The centre of police patrols in south-east Assiniboia until superseded by Estevan in 1893, the post remained in operation, principally as a livestock quarantine station, until 1897. This original building was removed from the site which was flooded by Boundary Dam. |
