Location: 40 kms south of Saskatoon on highway #11.

Located in the "Prairie Schooner" region of Saskatchewan, Blackstrap Provincial Park has one of Canada's rarest geographical formations - a "mountain" comprised of tons of fill, created with mammoth man-operated earthmovers. The hill was built to accommodate some events of the 1971 Canada Winter Games. This ski hill is a popular winter attraction for the local prairie residents. The park itself has over 530 hectares of green space and is a popular year-round getaway for fishermen -- and in the summer, the lake is full of windsurfers, boaters and closer to the beaches, swimmers. The image below shows the park's main beach on a somewhat quiet day!

Several cottage-communities dot the area surrounding the lake and many families live at Blackstrap Lake, enjoying the surroundings and associated activities year round.
