Northwest Saskatchewan Calling tourism region contains several of the province's provincial parks. It is here that you will find Makwa Lake Provincial Park, located immediately west of Loon Lake (170km north of North Battleford. This 2,500km-plus natural environment park includes land on the shoreline of five lakes. The area is one of hilly, forested terrain and irregular shaped lakes, a result of the interesting glacial history of the area. The loon's cry calls you to the clean air and clear waters of your lakeside campsite.

Boat and fish on five connected lakes. Utilize the aquatic program or the recreation centre while you are there. Try the beautiful nine hole golf course in the summer, and the 18 kilometres of intermediate cross-country ski trails in the winter.
