Larva
the pre-adult form from in which some organisms (animals) hatch from the egg; capable of fending for itself (usually different form adult); usually incapable of sexual reproduction

Lateral line
an open canal lying just beneath the skin and connected to the surface through pores; runs along each side of the body. This canal is lined with sensory organs that detect vibrations and changes in temperature and pressure, and help the fish to maintain its balance.

Life cycle
