Macronutrient-
Chemical element required in large amounts (0.05 to several %) for the growth of plants. e.g. calcium, magnesium, phophorus, potassium, nitrogen
Micronutrient-
Chemical element required in extremely small amounts (parts per million) for the growth of plants. e.g. boron, chlorine, copper, iron, manganese, zinc
Mineralization-
Conversion of an element from organic to inorganic form as a result of microbial decomposition. e.g. proteins in organic matter that are converted to nitrate.
MSG -
MSG (monosodium glutamate) is a flavor enhancer derived
from beet sugar. MSG is found in some prepared foods and is
widely used in restaurants. In some people it causes a
reaction known as "Chinese restaurant syndrome,"
consisting of tightness in the chest, a burning feeling in
the neck and forearms, and a headache. This syndrome usually
ceases without the need for medical attention.

Mycorrhiza-
The association of specific fungi with the roots of specific plants. Usually symbiotic.
Munsell Colour Notation-
A system that specifies the relative degree of the three simple variables of colour: hue value and chroma. Written as 6YR 3/1. A hue of 6YR value 3 and chroma 1.
